Medical Info

We can only speak to the patient themselves regarding test results due to issues of confidentiality, unless there is special permission or the patient is a child (and you are the legal guardian).

Most blood test results are back within 3 working days, some special tests may take up to 2 weeks. Xray results take 3 weeks to be returned to us. Even once back in the surgery a doctor needs to view and comment on them. Please ring after 11am for results, this allows us too deal with the initial appointment phonecalls earlier in the morning. You should always ring for your results and NOT rely on thinking that the result is normal because you have not heard anything.

Sick notes (Med 3)

For the first week you fill in a self certificate (SC2) which can be collected at our reception or found on line at www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/sc2.pdf. If you request a sick note (med 3) before 7 days there is a £15 charge for the service. If your sickness lasts more than 7 days you will need to see a doctor in order to get a note (no charge). You may be given a sick note over the phone if it is for an ongoing period of absence and you are known to the doctor.

See www.gov.uk/taking-sick-leave for advice.
